Brake Master Cylinders

Bigger bore brake master cylinders for Nissan, Mazda, Toyota and Subaru. A larger bore moves more fluid per stroke, so the pedal firms up once you fit bigger brakes. Shop the BM57 and BM50 for Skyline, Silvia, 180SX and 300ZX, 27mm upgrades for the 350Z, 370Z and 86/BRZ, and a 1″ master for the MX-5 NA and NB.

Brake Master Cylinders guide

BM57 or BM50 for Skyline, Silvia, 180SX and 300ZX

Both bolt to the factory booster and lines, suit ABS and non-ABS cars with the included tapered grub screw, and work on the street and track. The BM57 has a 27mm bore for shorter travel and firm pressure, for drivers who brake by pressure. It suits cars running 4-piston calipers only. It is right-hand drive, with a BM57 LHD for the 240SX S13 and S14 and 300ZX Z32. The BM50 has a 1″ (25.4mm) bore for standard travel and balanced pressure, a familiar street feel in a fresh RHD master.

27mm and 1″ upgrades for other cars

  • 350Z Z33 and Skyline V35: factory Brembo cars only, replaces 46010-CD027, LHD and RHD.
  • 370Z Z34 and Skyline V36: replaces D6010JK01A, right-hand drive only.
  • 86, GR86 and BRZ (ZN6, ZN8, ZC6, ZD8): 27mm, up from 25.4mm. All RHD cars plus LHD GR86, not LHD GT86.
  • MX-5 NA and NB: 1″, up from the factory 7/8″, LHD and RHD.

Fitting

Bench bleed the master before fitting with our bench bleeding line, then check push rod clearance to the booster. Our push rod adjusting tool makes that quicker. Every HFM.Parts master cylinder carries a lifetime warranty against defects. We recommend installation by a licensed mechanic.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose the BM57 or BM50 master cylinder for my Skyline or Silvia?

Choose the BM57 (27mm bore) for a firmer pedal with less travel on cars running 4-piston calipers. Choose the BM50 (1 inch, 25.4mm bore) for standard travel and a familiar street feel in a fresh master. Both bolt to the factory booster and lines and suit ABS and non-ABS cars.

Is there a left-hand drive BM57 master cylinder for the 240SX or 300ZX?

Yes. The standard BM57 and BM50 are right-hand drive, and the BM57 LHD suits the left-hand drive Nissan 240SX S13 and S14 and 300ZX Z32. It has the same 27mm bore, keeps the brake booster, and suits ABS and non-ABS cars.

Will the HFM.Parts 27mm brake master cylinder fit my 350Z or 370Z?

The 350Z Z33 and Skyline V35 27mm master suits factory Brembo cars only, replaces 46010-CD027, and fits LHD and RHD. The 370Z Z34 and Skyline V36 27mm master replaces D6010JK01A and is right-hand drive only. Every HFM.Parts master cylinder carries a lifetime warranty against defects.
