Overview

Why replace it

A heavy, vague or inconsistent clutch pedal on an RB26 GTR is usually the assist booster. It sits behind the clutch master cylinder, and it commonly fails when the master weeps fluid into the booster diaphragm. Once it goes, the pedal turns heavy or loses assist altogether.

This is a direct OEM-spec replacement for Nissan part 30630-05U01. It bolts into the factory location and restores proper pedal assist.

Booster or master cylinder?

Pull the vacuum hose off the booster. If there’s brake fluid inside, the master cylinder is leaking into the booster. Replace both together, or the new booster will end up the same way.

Specifications

Replaces Nissan 30630-05U01
Location Behind the clutch master cylinder
Fitment Direct OEM replacement, no modifications required
Push rod Not pre-adjusted, set the length on install
Suits Nissan Skyline R32 GTR, R33 GTR, R34 GTR, Stagea C34 260RS (RB26DETT)

Fitting

The booster doesn’t come pre-adjusted, so set the push rod length before it goes back in the car. If you’re using an HFM external push rod adjusting tool, run it in the opposite direction to what’s printed on the tool.

Once the booster and master cylinder are fitted and connected, bleed the clutch through the slave cylinder as normal.

We recommend installation by a licensed mechanic.

We have only confirmed fitment for the vehicles mentioned under compatibility. If your vehicle is not listed, then we don't know if it fits.
Yes. The booster doesn't come pre-adjusted. Set the push rod length before it goes back in the car.
Yes, but run it in the opposite direction to what's printed on the tool. You can find the push rod adjusting tool here.
Pull the vacuum hose off the booster. If there's brake fluid inside it, the master cylinder is leaking into the booster diaphragm. Replace both together, not just the booster, or you'll be back under the dash within weeks. We stock the GTR clutch master cylinder.
Heavy, inconsistent pedal effort, sometimes with a hiss or squeak as the pedal releases. That's vacuum leaking past a worn push rod seal instead of holding assist.
Yes, the same manifold source, but the clutch line runs through a restrictor. A bad leak at the clutch booster can still pull down shared vacuum, so if your brake pedal feels off at the same time, check this first.
Yes. Use the standard clutch bleed procedure through the slave cylinder once the new booster and master cylinder are fitted and connected.
Both. The booster works with the clutch master, not the slave. If you're replacing the slave too, R32 GTRs built before Feb 1993 use the push-type slave. Later R32 GTRs, R33 GTR and R34 GTR use the pull-type slave.

Our Story

We weren't always HFM.Parts; we were Holford Motors. Our brand's identity was forged not in an office, but on the local circuits in the high-stress world of competitive drifting. Our ultimate testbed was our Nissan S14 Drift car, driven by champion Luke Fink. Pushing that car to its limits exposed a crucial truth: achieving genuine, repeatable performance meant relying on components that simply weren't available affordably on the market.

The HFM.Parts brand was born

We made the commitment to design and manufacture the uncompromising, high-quality performance parts that we, as competitive racers, demanded ourselves. Every component you see is a solution conceived, tested, and proven by us. When you choose HFM.Parts, you are investing in components engineered by racers, for racers, ensuring your vehicle delivers its maximum performance potential.

It's a pivot ball, seems to be very well made, and feels heavier than the OEM one. The OEM one looks like the tip is slightly more round and circular than this one but it might be because it was worn out. Functionally it feels the same.

This little unit completely removed my clunk on gear changes under hard acceleration. It does transmit a small amount of gearbox noise but it's minimal and thats coming from someone that drives around with the exhaust silencers in :)
